Three Ancient Seeds placed on a Forsaken altar wake The Elder, so this is a key rather than a crafting material. You get it from Greydwarf Brutes and Greydwarf Nests in the Black Forest.

How to Get It
Seeds drop from Greydwarf Brutes and from the Greydwarf nests that keep spawning them, and both are a common sight in the Black Forest. Nests are the steadier way to farm them, since a Brute only drops a seed some of the time. A nest breaks to any weapon, or to fire if the Greydwarfs around it are too thick to fight. No tool tier or key is involved, so you can gather a full set on the same trip that brings back the copper. Unlike ore, seeds also go through a Portal, so you can skip the long walk home with them.
Notes
- It looks like a large seed with green shoots spreading out into the shape of a mace.
- Despite the name, Ancient Seeds cannot be planted and have nothing to do with the Ancient Trees of the Swamp. Three of them summon The Elder instead.
