Perch

Perch

A tasty whitemeat fish.
Type	Fish
Found In	Meadows
Location	Fishing
Weight	2
Stack	10
Teleport	Yes
Crafting Station	-
Crafting Materials	Cannot be crafted
Spawn ID	`spawn Fish1`

Perch hang in the shallows just off the Meadows and Black Forest shore, close enough to watch from dry land, and they are the first fish nearly everyone catches.

How to Get It

Buy a Fishing Rod and a stack of Fishing Bait from Haldor, whom you have to track down in the Black Forest before you can fish at all. Cast past the shoal and wait for one to bite, then hold the reel and give line back whenever your stamina runs low. Perch also wash up dead on beaches after rough weather, and you can simply pick them up.

Quality

A fish does not carry stars. Instead it has a quality from 1 to 5, rolled when it spawns: most waters give a 20% chance to step up a level, while the Ashlands and Deep North give 15%. A higher-quality fish is visibly larger, weighs more and cleans into more Raw Fish at a Food Preparation Table.

Notes

It has a unique line: "I'm a perch, not a bass!"
