The Alp is a Vampire that looks a lot like a Bruxa. Alps live in Toussaint and are met in the Blood and Wine expansion.

Lore

In a talk between the ealdorman of Falkoane and a witcher, a creature is described that looked like a bruxa, but was no bruxa. That creature is the alp. Some people call alps phantoms. The name fits, because like phantoms they haunt and torment people.

An alp usually takes the form of a woman, but it can also appear as an animal. In human form it blends easily into a village. That makes it very dangerous. Its saliva puts a person to sleep. Smeared on a sleeping man, it brings on horrible nightmares. Some people blame alps for an old legend. In that tale, men go to bed healthy. By morning they are white as snow, with not a drop of blood left in their veins.

Behaviour

Alps prowl near villages. They attack at night and are most active when the moon is full. They drink the blood of their victims. This drains the victim's strength and restores the alp's own.

Weaknesses

Coat the silver sword with Vampire Oil. Cast Yrden, because the Sign weakens an alp's defenses. Moon Dust bombs are useful too. Drink Black Blood before the fight, since the alp will try to drink blood from its foe.

Alps are incredibly fast and have huge stamina, even by vampire standards. No creature is better at dodging blows, so aim every swing with care. Unlike a bruxa, an alp cannot turn invisible. Like a bruxa, it lets out a shriek whose shock wave can leave a fighter helpless. Its greatest strength is its agility. It leaps so lightly that it almost seems to fly.

The Toussaint Prison Experiment - Bastoy Prison Ruins, Toussaint -

An alp is the enemy in The Toussaint Prison Experiment, a treasure hunt in Toussaint. It waits in the Bastoy Prison Ruins on the slopes of Mount Gorgon. A corpse in the ruins carries a clerk's diary and a key. The diary tells of a failed experiment that destroyed the prison. It also mentions a chest of gold still hidden in the ruins, and the key opens it.
