Grandmaster Griffin Trousers are medium witcher trousers from Blood and Wine. They are the Grandmaster variant of the Griffin Trousers. They give 91 armor, +11% sign intensity and +33% elemental resistance at level 40. Their diagram is under Mont Crane Castle, found during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear. They are late-game trousers from Toussaint.
They also give +6% piercing, +9% slashing and +8% monster resistance. The pieces give sign intensity, and the set bonuses cut stamina costs for Signs and strengthen Yrden traps. Together they suit a signs build. Medium armor balances protection and stamina regeneration.
Set Bonus
The Griffin set is medium armor with 5 tiers: Basic, Enhanced, Superior, Mastercrafted and Grandmaster. 3 pieces: after a Sign cast in standard mode with stamina, the next Sign within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger. Inside them, stamina regeneration rises by 5/s, sign intensity rises by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.
How to Get Grandmaster Griffin Trousers
- Take the portal under Mont Crane Castle to Moreau's hidden workshop. The trousers diagram is in the same room as the armor and silver sword diagrams.
- A grandmaster armorer crafts them from Mastercrafted Griffin Trousers. The quest Master Master Master Master! in Beauclair unlocks this armorer.
Grandmaster Griffin Trousers Map Location and Quest Guide
The Grandmaster Griffin Trousers diagram lies in Jerome's prison, a cave reached through a portal in Moreau's hidden workshop under Mont Crane Castle, during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear. The pin marks the diagram spot. The trousers diagram sits in a sack on a chair, near the armor and silver sword diagrams.
- Talk to Lafargue, the grandmaster smith in Toussaint, and ask him about the Griffin gear to start the hunt.
- Go to the Fort Ussar Ruins, loot the crate under the stairs on the east side and read Captain Augustus Fierabras' report. It points to Mont Crane Castle.
- Go to Mont Crane Castle, a hanse base. Kill the fire runner before he lights the signal fire, or bandits from nearby camps arrive as reinforcements.
- Follow the marker to the wall and use the Eye of Nehaleni on it. The illusion fades and reveals a hidden passage.
- Take the power crystal from the table in Moreau's workshop.
- Use Witcher Senses to find the hidden button that moves the stone wall, and go through.
- Loot the chest in the next room and read Moreau's journal. It tells of the portal.
- Place the power crystal in the marked spot, power it with Aard and step through the portal.
- Defeat Moreau's golem, which attacks as soon as the portal is crossed.
- Search the sack on the chair in the cave for the Grandmaster Griffin Trousers diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Grandmaster Legendary Griffin Trousers instead. They need level 40 plus the NG+ starting level. They give 93 armor at level 41, +17% sign intensity and +45% elemental resistance.
