Relic Perks
Relic perks are the sixth tree, and they work unlike anything else in the game. They are bought with Relic points earned through Phantom Liberty rather than with perk points, and almost all of them unlock an ability rather than raising a number. Most rebuild what V's arm cyberware can do, and the two largest hand V a way of reading enemies that no attribute tree offers.
Best Relic Perks
The Relic Perks below are the ones almost every build of the tree ends up buying, either because a branch is bought through them or because what they unlock cannot be had any other way.
| Name | Image | Attribute | Tier | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jailbreak | Relic | 3 Relic points | Unlocks new abilities for Arm cyberware: Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Projectile Launch System and Monowire. | |
| Vulnerability Analytics | Relic | 3 Relic points | During combat, you can now detect Vulnerabilities in enemy Armor and cyberware. Hitting Vulnerabilities gives: 100% Crit Chance. +25% Armor penetration. Weakspot damage bonuses. Dealing enough damage to a Vulnerability will cause it to explode, generating an EMP blast that damages enemies within 3m. | |
| Machine Learning | Relic | 1 Relic point | Destroying an enemy's Vulnerability grants: +10% Frequency of new Vulnerabilities appearing. +5% Crit Damage against Vulnerabilities. Duration: 25 sec. Effect and duration can stack 5 times. Reaching max stacks doubles these effects. |
Relic Points
The points come from the expansion's own progression, which means this tree is paced separately from every other part of a build. They are scarce, the perks cost different amounts, and the order they are bought in matters more here than anywhere else.
The cheaper perks each refine one specific thing, usually one arm implant, and most of them do nothing at all until the gate above them is open. Buying them first is the common mistake.
Arm Cyberware
Jailbreak is the gate. It gives Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, the Projectile Launch System and the Monowire a new ability each. The Projectile Launch System can be overcharged into a wide burst, Gorilla Arms charge as they are used and throw a staggering shockwave, Mantis Blades charge the next leap attack from a dismemberment or a finisher, and the Monowire gains the ability the rest of the branch extends.
Four smaller perks then take one arm each. Spatial Mapping makes a Mantis Blades leap cripple what it lands on, Limiter Removal turns the Gorilla Arms shockwave into a knockdown, Launch Capacity Override adds a Projectile Launch System charge, and Data Tunneling spreads a Monowire uploaded quickhack to everything caught in the same swing.
Only one arm implant can be worn at a time, so a build buys the one perk that matches its arm and leaves the others.
Vulnerabilities
Vulnerability Analytics is the other large perk, and it changes how every weapon V carries is aimed. Weak points appear on enemy armour and cyberware during combat, a hit on one is always a critical with added armour penetration, and dealing enough damage to one makes it explode as an EMP blast.
Machine Learning reads the same vulnerabilities. Destroying one makes new ones appear more often and raises critical damage against them, and the stacks climb until both effects double.
Escapes
Emergency Cloaking lets optical camo break an enemy's track in the middle of a fight, which gives V a chance to leave combat entirely. The camo has to be in the combat gadget slot for it to work.
Sensory Protocol is bought from it and covers the other failure. Being detected while crouched slows time briefly, and dashing or dodging out of the enemy's line of sight ends the fight before it starts. It runs on a long cooldown, so it forgives one mistake rather than all of them.
Notes
Unlike the attribute trees, nothing here is gated on points spent in an attribute, so a build of any shape can buy the whole tree. What limits it is the number of Relic points, which is why Vulnerability Analytics and Machine Learning are usually taken first by a build with no arm cyberware to improve.
The Relic itself is the shard carrying Johnny Silverhand, which is why this tree sits apart from the rest of progression.
All Relic Perks
Every relic perk in the game is listed below.
| Name | Image | Cost | Requires | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Data Tunneling | 1 Relic point | - | When an enemy is affected by a Monowire-uploaded quickhack, normal Monowire attacks which hit that enemy and other enemies simultaneously, will spread the quickhack to them. | |
| Emergency Cloaking | - | - | Improves Optical Camo cyberware. Activating Optical Camo during combat will cause enemies to lose track of you, giving you a chance to exit combat. Note: To use this ability you must have Optical Camo equipped to your Combat Gadget quickslot. | |
| Jailbreak | 3 Relic points | - | Unlocks new abilities for Arm cyberware: Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Projectile Launch System and Monowire. | |
| Launch Capacity Override | 1 Relic point | - | Increases the number of Projectile Launch System charges by 1. | |
| Limiter Removal | 1 Relic point | - | The shockwave from a charged Gorilla Arms attack now knocks down all enemies within range. | |
| Machine Learning | 1 Relic point | - | Destroying an enemy's Vulnerability grants: +10% Frequency of new Vulnerabilities appearing. +5% Crit Damage against Vulnerabilities. Duration: 25 sec. Effect and duration can stack 5 times. Reaching max stacks doubles these effects. | |
| Sensory Protocol | 1 Relic point | - | When crouched, being detected by an enemy will temporarily slow down time. Dodge or Dash out of the enemy's line of sight to immediately exit combat. Cooldown: 120 sec. | |
| Spatial Mapping | 1 Relic point | - | All Leap Attacks with Mantis Blades now cripple enemies and increase dismemberment chance against those same enemies for 10 sec. | |
| Vulnerability Analytics | 3 Relic points | - | During combat, you can now detect Vulnerabilities in enemy Armor and cyberware. Hitting Vulnerabilities gives: 100% Crit Chance. +25% Armor penetration. Weakspot damage bonuses. Dealing enough damage to a Vulnerability will cause it to explode, generating an EMP blast that damages enemies within 3m. |
