Chevillon is an American carmaker that builds heavy, armoured cars for people who expect trouble. Its cars belong to the Executive class, the tier of costly cars made for comfort and status. Chevillon trades speed for safety, and its cars are known for thick armour and great weight. Mid-ranking corporate managers ride in the Thrax sedan. Corporations and the police drive the Emperor, a big armoured SUV.
History
The in-game Database calls the Thrax the car of choice for the mid-ranking managerial class. It is elegant and commands respect, but above all it is safe. Armour covers the car from top to bottom, enough to drive through mine explosions. Its bulletproof windows stop high-calibre bullets. The price of all that steel is weight. The Thrax has a mighty engine, yet it gathers speed slowly. The Database shrugs that off, since it is better to arrive late than never, and in one piece.
Chevillon's armour makes it a favourite of the people who run Night City. Arasaka, Militech, Kang Tao and NetWatch all use the Emperor, and so does the NCPD. The police keep a special Emperor called the Ironclad for the worst situations. The Database says that when an Ironclad rolls down the street, shopkeepers shutter their windows and people duck behind dumpsters. It carries heavily armoured bodywork, Militech combat technology and reinforced bumpers that crush other cars like NiCola cans.
Chevillon models carry the names of Roman ranks and rulers, such as Emperor, Legatus and Decurion.
Vehicles
Chevillon builds its cars around weight and protection. Strong engines move a lot of steel, so the cars feel solid but gather speed slowly.
The Thrax is the executive sedan of the range. The Thrax 388 Jefferson is a heavy rear-wheel-drive car that sells for €$ 34,000. The Thrax 378 Decurion and custom Thrax cars round out the line.
The Emperor is a large all-wheel-drive SUV that weighs about 6,000 lbs. The Emperor 620 Ragnar sells for €$ 38,000. The Emperor 720 NCPD Ironclad is the armoured police model, and the Emperor "Dominator" is a custom one.
The Legatus 450 Aquila is a newer Chevillon on the Autofixer netpage for €$ 55,000. The Centurion 1000 and the 2TY-8 complete the range.
