Forward to Death is the main job on the Aldecaldos path of the ending, after We Gotta Live Together. The Aldecaldos drive their stolen Militech Panzer, the Basilisk, through a guarded building site to reach a tunnel into Arasaka Tower. Militech forces fight them all the way.

Story

The Last Stop

In the journal Johnny calls it the last stop on the line. The corporation does not know that this train is not coming back. It is a shame, he says, that he will not be there, because it will be one hell of a ride, but that is what family is for. Once V reaches the sublevels of Arasaka Tower, that crater of chrome and concrete, V should take a moment to remember that Johnny was there, then mow down anyone in the way and get to Mikoshi.

The Building Site

Panam leads V back to Saul. He hands over a shard, and V flies a drone over the building site to scout the guards and the layout. Then V boards the Basilisk and follows Saul's convoy to the site.

The Panzer breaks down on the approach, and V has to get out and protect it from drones while Panam fixes it. Back aboard, V clears the area, rams through the bridge and smashes the gate. On foot, V clears the next area and escorts Mitch and Carol up the scaffolding to a computer.

Militech

While Mitch breaks into the system, Militech forces attack in waves: first soldiers, then heavy machines with troops. After the Aldecaldos regroup, V takes the Basilisk to deal with more Militech machines and a strike team. Then V returns to the building site and drives into the tunnel. The raid continues in Belly of the Beast.

Forward to Death map location:

Scouting

  1. Follow Panam and take the shard from Saul.
  2. Use the drone to scan the building site and learn its layout.
  3. Talk to Saul and Panam.
  4. Enter the Panzer when ready and follow Saul.

The Approach

  1. Exit the Basilisk when it breaks down.
  2. Protect the Panzer during the repair. A sniper rifle works well against the drones.
  3. Enter the Basilisk again.
  4. Eliminate all enemies in the area.
  5. Ram through the bridge and ram the gate.

The Site

  1. Exit the Basilisk and neutralise the enemies in the area.
  2. Wait for Mitch and Carol, then escort them to the top of the scaffolding.
  3. Neutralise the first wave of Militech forces while Mitch works.
  4. Prepare for reinforcements and neutralise the second wave of machines and soldiers.
  5. Wait for the Aldecaldos to regroup.

The Tunnel

  1. Enter the Basilisk and head to the marked area.
  2. Exit the Basilisk and neutralise Militech's strike team.
  3. Return to the building site and drive into the tunnel.

Choices

The job is linear. How each fight is handled, from inside the Basilisk or on foot, is up to V.

Tips

Scan the whole site carefully with the drone first, as the area is heavily guarded. During the scan, the guards can even be hacked, though they return once the drone is switched off.
