Mitch Anderson is a nomad of the Aldecaldos and one of the most respected members of the Bright family. He is a veteran of the Unification War, where he fought for the Free States as a panzerboy, a pilot of combat vehicles. He is loyal to his friends and unbending with everyone else. He is one of Panam Palmer's closest friends and stands beside her through her whole story.
Biography
The War
Mitch and his friend Scorpion served with other Aldecaldos in an elite division of armoured vehicles and combat AVs during the Unification War. The fighting was brutal, and the pilots were given drug cocktails to keep their nerves sharp enough to control their machines. Those drugs carried a risk of cyberpsychosis, and both men came home with deep scars from the war. In time they recovered and went back to the clan, where Mitch helped with the family's smuggling work. That life suits him far better than the battlefield.
Panam's Friend
When Panam leaves the clan, Mitch first tries to talk her out of it, but he stays in touch with her in the city. Saul forbids him to help her recover her stolen truck, so he gives her his old rifle instead. When V and Panam bring down the Kang Tao AV carrying Anders Hellman, Mitch, Scorpion and a few others rush to the crash site, hoping to help the wounded and salvage what they can. They do not know that the AV carries combat drones and soldiers. Scorpion is killed, and Mitch is taken hostage before V and Panam can reach him.
Back at camp, Mitch stands up for Panam in her quarrels with Saul and reminds her that Saul cares about her. He joins her raid on the Militech convoy and helps assemble the stolen Basilisk tank, and he makes the last adjustments before V and Panam take it out for the first time. He also says goodbye to Scorpion in the traditional Aldecaldo way.

Personality
Mitch is quiet, steady and thoughtful. He rarely raises his voice, and he prefers working on machines to talking. He carries the weight of the war and the friends he lost, but he does not let it control him. He is protective of Panam and calm where she is hot-headed.
Relationships
Panam Palmer is his close friend, and he trusts her judgement even when Saul does not. Scorpion was his comrade from the war and his oldest friend. Saul Bright is the clan leader he serves. Cassidy Righter and Carol Emeka are fellow members of the family.
Jobs
Mitch is part of Panam's story from Ghost Town, Lightning Breaks and Life During Wartime onwards. He helps in With a Little Help from My Friends and Queen of the Highway, and in We Gotta Live Together and Forward to Death. I'll Fly Away is the side job in which Mitch says goodbye to Scorpion.

Endings
In the Aldecaldos ending, Mitch helps plan the assault on Arasaka Tower and flies a drone over the building site that serves as the clan's way in. He then stays behind to pilot the Basilisk alone against the Militech forces outside. Panam fears that driving the tank alone will kill him, but he survives, which she puts down to the toughened nerves left from his years as a panzerboy. He then leaves Night City with the rest of the family.
Notes
Mitch drives an Aldecaldo Thorton Colby, the Little Mule.
The rifle Overwatch lies in his tent, and Panam later gives it to V.
