Guinea Pigs is a Gun for Hire gig from Dino Dinovic in Downtown, City Center. Joanne Koch, a Biotechnica director, tested a virus for her pet project, Nightingale, and the test killed more than seventy members of the Red Ochre nomad clan. The families have pooled their money to make her pay. She hides in the Biotechnica hotel on Republic Way, swarming with guards and robots.

Story

A Cordial Greeting

Dino tells the story in the journal. Joanne Koch is a regional director for tech and development at Biotechnica, which means she tests the shiny new gadgets. The last one she tested killed over seventy people from a clan called Red Orchid, or Red Ocher, or something like that. Koch tried to dry the families' tears with a few eddies, which never works, and decided to close the book. The book did not close. The families pooled together to hire someone to give the director the very cordial greeting she deserves. Dino sends the coordinates and the access code to the corporate hotel where she is holed up.

The Hotel

The hotel has three floors open to V: the lobby, the 19th floor and the roof. Guards, cameras and a turret watch the lobby. More guards, dormant robots and cameras cover the 19th floor, with a security office at the end of the corridor. Four guards and two cameras watch the roof, two of them circling a skylight with an open window into Koch's flat.

Nightingale

V finds Koch lost in a braindance. If V wakes her, she begs for the chance to upload the Nightingale data for her colleagues. She argues that the deaths of the Red Ochre would be for nothing if the results never see the light of day.

The Lobby

Go to the Biotechnica hotel on Republic Way in Downtown.
For a quiet way in, use the unlocked side door by the police cordon. It leads to a small staff office with one worker.
Use the computer in the office to view or switch off the lobby cameras.
Slip past or take out the worker, then turn right out of the office to the lift.
Or open the door on the other side of the building with enough Technical Ability.

The 19th Floor

Take the lift to the 19th floor and watch for the guard in the atrium.
At the crossing, turn left to the flats and the roof access door, covered by one camera.
Open Koch's door with enough Technical Ability, or go up to the roof.

The Roof

Deal with or slip past the guards around the skylight.
Drop through the open window into Koch's flat.
Kill Koch, or knock her out.

Delivering Koch

If Koch is knocked out, clear the four guards on the roof before the AV arrives.
Carry Koch up the roof stairs next to her flat and wait outside the landing zone.
Put her in the AV and stay clear of the landing zone.
Go back down to the 19th floor, take the lift and leave the hotel.

Choices

Koch's Fate

V can kill Koch and leave the way V came, or knock her out so the Red Ochre survivors can deal with her personally. Dino then sends a Zetatech Canopy AV to the roof.

If V wakes Koch and lets her upload the data, she walks to a computer and calls security. If V refuses, she runs and calls security anyway.

Rewards

Completing Guinea Pigs pays €$ 19,230 and 565 experience.

The gig pays eddies, experience and Street Cred.

Tips

The gig does not require stealth, and V can fight through if desired. The staff office route skips the lobby guards, cameras and turret altogether.
