Heaviest of Hearts

Heaviest of Hearts
Type Gig
Fixer Mr. Hands
Region Pacifica
DLC Phantom Liberty

Heaviest of Hearts is a Phantom Liberty gig from Mr. Hands in Dogtown, Pacifica, open after Firestarter. Michael Maldonado says District Attorney Georgina Zembinsky and her partner, Hank Davis, tortured him into testifying against his own son, Eric. He wants the testimony gone. Georgina spends her nights at the Heavy Hearts club, the very place Mr. Hands runs his business from.

Story

A Wayward Son

Mr. Hands calls it a delicate matter in the journal, however mundane. Michael Maldonado has been blessed with two things: a wayward son and endless trouble. Michael will explain what he needs. Hands only knows that Michael is willing to pay both of them surprisingly well. Michael runs a business he never seems to leave. As Hands puts it, those with the least stand to lose the most.

V meets Michael beneath the Needle. He tells his story, and sends V to the Heavy Hearts club. On the way, Hands texts a warning: V is not to cause trouble in his club.

Finding Georgina

The bartender thinks the DA is in the VIP area, and points V to a man named Jack in the toilets. Jack, interrupted in the middle of a deal, gives up her room for money, or for a Streetkid's promise of better contacts in Night City. A waitress also knows where she sits, and a guest list on a terminal in the dressing room names another room. Georgina's friends in VIP room 4 point the way to room 6.

Georgina and Hank

In room 6, Georgina and Hank tell a different story. They need Eric in prison to catch Hector Sacristán, a high ranking Valentino and suspected serial killer that Georgina has hunted for two years. Eric is a gang member himself, accused of crimes of his own. They deny torturing Michael, and say his testimony is true, though he was paid for it. They play the recording: Michael testifies that Eric told him by holocall that Hector shot a man named Marcos Ferreria.

Choices

The Testimony

V can accept Georgina's offer to strip Michael's name and data from the testimony. Michael is unhappy that it was not deleted, and refuses to pay, until V demands the money in return for silence. Hands is unhappy that his client is unhappy, but still pays if V raised no alarm.

V can also refuse to believe them and demand the testimony be deleted. Georgina tells Hank to threaten V. With enough Body, V threatens him first and he backs down. Otherwise, V has to beat him in a fight. Either way, Georgina deletes the testimony, Michael is happy and pays, and so is Hands.

Rewards

Completing Heaviest of Hearts pays €$ 4,000 to 8,000, 1,832 experience and 167 Street Cred. It also rewards Crimestopper (missable).

Michael pays eddies, and Mr. Hands adds his own payment. The Iconic smart pistol Crimestopper lies in a suitcase in VIP room 6.

Tips

Mr. Hands runs his business from Heavy Hearts, so keep things quiet. Jack also sells Military Grade Lactic Acid Recyclers.
