I Don't Wanna Hear It is the side job in which Kerry Eurodyne goes to confront Us Cracks, the girl band that covered his song, at their concert at Riot in Little China, Watson. It follows Rebel! Rebel!, with a call from Kerry. Getting into the club and backstage takes some ingenuity, and the meeting with the band decides whether a feud turns into a friendship.

Story

The Crisis Continues

Johnny thinks Kerry is barking up the wrong tree. In the journal he says the girls of Us Cracks are a symptom, not the cause. Wipe them out, and the record label MSM would just find another singer for its songs. To the labels, artists are all cheap and replaceable: chewed up, spat out, over and over. Still, the world is crazy enough that Kerry might be onto something.

After blowing up the band's equipment van in Rebel! Rebel!, Kerry learns that the concert is still going ahead. He asks V to meet him at Riot. V waits on a stool at a stall outside until Kerry arrives at 7 PM. If V suggests buying tickets, Kerry refuses to give Us Cracks his money.

Getting In

V and Kerry look around the club for a way in. A fan at the back of the queue sells tickets at a high price. Two VIP guests on the west side can be scanned to take their tickets. A locked door gives way to enough Intelligence. Or V can kick down a ladder on the west side, climb to an open door with Kerry and find an employee badge that opens the backstage area.

Backstage

Inside, V and Kerry make their way to the dressing rooms. V can convince the guard that V is a techie working backstage, and tells Kerry that V once worked for an artist called G-Hung. Or the VIP passes or the badge get them through.

In the VIP room, they meet the three members of Us Cracks: Blue Moon, Purple Force and Red Menace. Kerry pulls a gun. The band explain that their deal with MSM Records was not their idea but that of Kerry's own manager, L. B. Kovachek, and that their cover of User Friendly is an expression of their love for him. Kerry is furious with Kovachek, but calms down.

Outside Riot

  1. Answer Kerry's call after Rebel! Rebel!.
  2. Meet Kerry at Riot around 7 PM. Sit on the stool at the stall to wait if desired.
  3. Try to get concert tickets: buy them from the fan at the back of the queue, or ask for a discount as a Streetkid.
  4. Or scan the two fans in the alley to the left of the entrance and steal their tickets.
  5. Or use the fire escape in the alley to the left of the front entrance, double jumping to the ladder.
  6. Or open the locked door with enough Intelligence, or the garage route with enough Body.

Backstage

  1. Enter with the tickets, or through the side door.
  2. Go backstage: talk past the guard with enough Technical Ability, show the employee badge from the storeroom near the bar, or ask Kerry to create a distraction.
  3. Follow Kerry and sit if desired.
  4. Talk to Us Cracks.

Choices

Kerry and Us Cracks

The upper, calmer answers agree that Kerry's manager is to blame and make peace. Kerry and the band become friends. Us Cracks postpone the rest of their tour in protest against their contract, and the girls ask V to take a photo of them with Kerry. Later, they release a song and video together, a party is held at Dark Matter in Off the Leash, and Blue Moon later calls to start Every Breath You Take.

The lower, aggressive answers leave Kerry and the band at odds. There is no party at Dark Matter, and Every Breath You Take never starts. Neither outcome affects a romance with Kerry.

Rewards

Completing I Don't Wanna Hear It pays 587 experience and 1,321 Street Cred.

The job pays experience and Street Cred. The photo of Kerry and Us Cracks can later help persuade Lina Malina in Dazed and Confused.

Tips

A double jump implant gets V up to the ladder in the alley quickly, and the employee badge found there opens the backstage area.
