Biography

---

After the rescue, Regina Jones sent Lucy to El Capitan, while her brother Bertie left the city. Lucy felt she could still help people and did not want to leave. El Capitan sent her to Octavio's clinic in the slums of Rancho Coronado, which needed a skilled ripperdoc, and she took a cover name to stay out of sight.

A Childhood Dream

Ever since she was a little girl, Lucy wanted to be a ripperdoc and save lives. She held on to that dream through hundreds of hours of anatomy, microanatomy, biochemistry, physiology and robotics, and she had a long term memory implant, a hand stabiliser and a host of antibodies installed along the way. On the road she also learned a deep contempt for the jaded, cynical ripperdocs who make up most of the trade in Night City. So when she became a ripper, she made herself two promises: to help anyone in need, and to protect her patients at all costs.

The Price of a Promise

Those promises cost her. Her brother Bertie joined Maelstrom, and the gang lives by simple rules: stay, die or pay. Lucy paid, offering her skills instead of cash, and Maelstrom held her at the Clean Cut clinic long after the deal ran out. Even from hiding, she keeps advising other people: when Judy Álvarez asks her about a friend left catatonic by a damaged doll chip, Lucy tells her to remove the chip under proper anaesthesia, or to bring the friend to her.
