Old Friends is a Gun for Hire gig from Padre in Vista del Rey, Heywood, and a personal one. Karubo Bairei, a former solo, killed people who were like family to Padre, then fled to the East Coast when Night City fell apart. Now he is back, running a dive bar on the corner of Congress and Pigeon Streets that the Valentinos use as a hangout. Padre wants him dealt with, quietly.

Story

A Time for Revenge

Padre quotes scripture in the journal. There is a time for forgiveness and a time for revenge, a time to turn the other cheek and a time to crush enemies like roaches. In the words of the prophet Jeremiah, cursed is the one who keeps his sword from bloodshed.

Karubo Bairei is an old man now, but Padre warns V not to be fooled: he used to be a solo. He killed Padre's friends, people who were brothers and sisters to him. When all hell broke loose in Night City, Karubo ran to the East Coast. Now he is back, probably thinking everyone has forgotten. Padre has not. Karubo runs a filthy dive full of Valentinos, and V is to show him nobody escapes justice. But V should not make a scene. No unnecessary attention.

The Dive Bar

Karubo is one of many people with enemies in the city, and the Valentinos are friendly with him. He moves between four spots in the kitchen. One or two Valentinos keep an eye on the kitchen, another watches the front door, and four more sit around the main room.
