The Valentinos are one of the largest gangs in Night City, ruling the Latino barrios of Heywood. Loud vests, flashy gold cyberware, heavy jewellery and tattoos of Santa Muerte make a Valentino hard to mistake. Loyalty, family and having each other's backs are at the core of their creed. Their streets in the Glen, Vista del Rey and Wellsprings are covered in murals and shrines, and host drag races and all-night street parties.
History
From Cartel to Gang
The Valentinos began as a small Latino cartel. A bloodbath at Moto Cielo killed many of its members. One survivor, a priest named Sebastian Ibarra, found a new calling and became the fixer known as Padre. Over the years the gang grew into one of the biggest in the city, bound by a strong moral code and by old Catholic traditions.
The War with 6th Street
The Valentinos have been at war with 6th Street for years. The fighting has spilled across the city, and the struggle for Vista del Rey grew so fierce that many of its people moved to safer places. By the time of the game, the war is getting worse, and Vista del Rey is more dangerous than ever. The gang's leader, Campo Orta, is still serving a prison sentence, while his relative Gustavo Orta ranks high in the gang.

Way of Life
The Valentinos wear their gang tattoos openly, along with gold jewellery showing their patron saints. Santa Muerte stands for a holy death, and Jesús Malverde for an honourable thief who robbed the rich to give to the poor. They love bright clothes, lowriders and gold plated guns, and favour reflex boosters and cybernetic limbs.
Most members are of Mexican heritage, but anyone can join, whatever their background. New members soon take on the gang's Chicano culture and its holidays, such as the Day of the Dead. The gang protects the whole neighbourhood, and the neighbourhood protects the gang in return, which makes it almost impossible for the police or the corporations to get inside. The Valentinos take honour, justice and brotherhood deadly seriously. They usually leave strangers alone if they cause no trouble, and will even point lost tourists back to City Center.
Betraying the gang is the worst crime a Valentino can commit, and it is punished with a gruesome death. Those who die fighting are remembered as saints and martyrs, in songs and on giant murals that tell their deeds like holy images. A Valentino's friendship lasts until the grave, so it is worth thinking twice before riding with them.
Business
The Valentinos own many legal businesses, from restaurants and garages to building firms and nightclubs, and they also run braindance studios and betting parlours. These often hide meeting places, money laundering or chop shops for stolen cars. Their main income is gun smuggling, car theft, drugs, robbery and hit jobs, along with prostitution and illegal changes to weapons and vehicles.
