On Deaf Ears is a cyberpsycho sighting for Regina Jones in Downtown, City Center, in a car park near the Downtown Central fast travel point. Bodies lie scattered around, and whoever left them is still nearby. The cyberpsycho is Cedric Muller, a nomad of the Red Ochre clan, one of the people Biotechnica used as test subjects. His lungs are failing, and the pain has driven him over the edge.
Story
Still Here
The journal is brief: watch out, whoever left those bodies is still hanging around.
Neuroblockers
On Cedric's body, a shard records his messages with Maciej Nakonieczny, a Scavenger. Cedric begged for neuroblockers, a lot of them, right away. The pain was driving him mad. When Maciej asked where it came from, Cedric said Biotechnica had poisoned him. Everyone in his clan had it. Their lungs were collapsing, and some were already dead. Maciej only said he had not asked for Cedric's whole life story.
The Scavengers' Plan
A second shard, in a box on the lower floor of the car park, shows what the Scavengers really thought. Peter Novotny never got the blockers for "the annoying client". Instead of meds, they agreed, he would get steel in the gut: they would carve him up and pull out his implants, as he was finished anyway. Cedric got to them first.
Biotechnica's Test
Scanning the scene confirms it. Cedric's lungs and other organs were badly damaged by unknown chemicals. Illegal painkillers lie stained with his blood. One Scavenger driver was already dying of shotgun wounds before his car crashed. Regina sees it plainly: Cedric had already suffered enough as Biotechnica's lab rat, and when the Scavengers kicked him while he was down, he snapped, as anyone would.
