Race to the Top is a Thievery gig from El Capitan in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. Kendachi is about to name a new department director, and two candidates want the job. One of them is El Capitan's client, and he wants dirt on his rival, Matheus Stove. Stove looks spotless, but rumour ties him to the Valentinos, and the proof should be on the computer in his office at the Kendachi factory on El Camino Road.

Story

The Third Wrong

El Capitan opens the journal with a twist on an old saying. Two wrongs do not make a right, so V and El Capitan are the third. Kendachi is choosing a new director of some department, and that part does not matter. What matters is that there are two candidates for one job. One is El Capitan's client, who wants dirt on his new arch enemy, Matheus Stove.

The trouble is that Stove is as bland as boiled, unseasoned scop. No bodies in his backyard, no shady dates, nothing. But no man in his position in Night City is completely clean. Some of El Capitan's contacts say Stove has strings tied to the Valentinos. V is to slip into his office and copy files off his computer. With luck, they will back up the rumours and cost Mr. Squeaky Clean his promotion.

The Factory

The compound is heavily guarded. Three guards sit in the security room by the gate, which has two turrets mounted on its ceiling. Stove's office is on the second floor of the factory.

Getting In

  1. Go to the Kendachi factory on El Camino Road in Arroyo.
  2. Slip past or quietly take out the security at the gate, including the two ceiling turrets. The metal detector at the entrance can also be hacked to work for V.
  3. Move to the right side of the compound, using the containers and vehicles as cover.

The Factory

  1. Force the shutter on the right with 16 Body.
  2. Or climb the ladder on the left at the back of the building, open the door with 8 Technical Ability, and switch off the camera inside.
  3. Or sneak in through the front door, away from the patrolling guards.
  4. Inside, keep to the left, using the machines to distract enemies, and climb the ladder to the second floor.

The Office

  1. Get inside Matheus' office.
  2. Jack into his computer and find the incriminating data.
  3. Leave the factory grounds the way V came in.
