Sacrum Profanum, also known as Losing My Religion, is a side job in which a Buddhist monk asks V to save his brother from Maelstrom. It can be found at the Cargo Bay in the Northside Docks, Watson, after The Ride. The gang forced implants on the monk, against his faith, and still holds his brother in a nearby warehouse. The job is time sensitive, and the monk asks V not to kill anyone.
Story
The Monk
Johnny's journal entry is angry. Picking on the little guy for fun is high on the short list of things that really annoy him. If he could save the monk and scrap a few chromed Maelstrom thugs on the way, he would sign up, and if V feels the same, V should hurry, as there may still be time.
At the Cargo Bay, V meets a monk in deep distress. Maelstrom captured him and his brother and forced implants on him, which his religion forbids. The gang let him go, but still holds his brother. He asks V for help, and begs V to avoid killing the gang members.
The Warehouse
The brother is held in a warehouse to the north west, surrounded by shipping containers. V can fight in, or sneak round the back, climb the containers and slip in through a raised opening. Inside, V deals with the gang and frees the captive monk. An Iconic submachine gun lies on a table next to him.

Choices
Killing or Sparing
If V kills none of the gangers, the rescued monk is deeply grateful and hopes V stays on the path of peace. Johnny is sarcastic about it. If any gangers die, the monk is harsh: he calls V evil and says his own suffering does not justify the deaths of others.
Rewards
Completing Sacrum Profanum pays 872 experience and 1,306 Street Cred. It also rewards Fenrir (optional).
The Iconic power submachine gun Fenrir lies on a table next to the captive monk. The job also pays eddies, experience and Street Cred.
Tips
The job can also start just by walking into the warehouse. The talk with the monk then changes slightly, and the job ends right after saving him.
Enemies
V fights these enemies during Sacrum Profanum.

Notes
- If the monk is saved, both brothers can later be found praying by the large statue near the Cherry Blossom Market in Japantown. They share their view on copying a person's mind: if a perfect copy can suffer, it is a real person. V can ask Johnny what he thinks he is.
- The alternate title comes from the song Losing My Religion by R.E.M.
