Japantown is the entertainment quarter of Westbrook, home to Night City's Japanese community. By day it fills with tourists visiting its bars, restaurants, gaming parlours, the Cherry Blossom Market and its Shinto temple. By night it becomes the party district of the rich. The Tyger Claws rule it after dark.
History
Japantown grew as the cultural centre of the city's Japanese population. It is also the base of most of the yakuza families working in Northern California, chosen for its central position and its light police presence.

Life in Japantown
After dark, corporate workers and tourists crowd the same brothels, casinos and bars. Love hotels and hostess clubs line the streets, with Jig-Jig Street the most notorious of them.
Japantown is also where V can rent an apartment, and where Fourth Wall Studios makes its braindances. Clouds, the dollhouse in Megabuilding H8, is one of the most important places in the story.
Its Shinto shrine is a sight no visitor should miss, and every corner offers a smart backdrop for a photo. The catch is the price, above all of the night life. Corporate workers with full credchips come here to play hard after work, with wealthy tourists right beside them, and the braindance clubs, casinos and bars are never short of customers.
