The Damned is the Phantom Liberty main job in which Solomon Reed brings in Alex, an old partner from his days as an agent, and the three look for a way to find Songbird. It starts at the Moth, a bar in Longshore Stacks, Dogtown, and leads to the hideout of Slider, a netrunner who leads the Voodoo Boys in the district. Reed calls V two days after Lucretia My Reflection to start it.

Story

A Growing Cast

The journal finds the story getting out of hand. The plot thickens, the cast grows, and drama turns into farce. Johnny thinks one more secret agent in a crew of downed presidents, missing netrunners and sleeper agents is one too many. He warns V to stay on top of them and not get dragged into something even bigger, as big as the next corporate war.

The Moth

Reed sends V to the Moth bar. V sits at the bar and waits, and when Reed arrives, the bar closes to everyone else. The bartender, Daphne, turns out to be Alex, the contact V was meant to meet. She once ran with Reed and Songbird.

The meeting gets off to a bad start, and Alex walks outside. V follows her and talks with her about the situation and her life before she became a bartender. In the end she agrees to join, with demands of her own. Back inside, Alex shares what she knows about Songbird. The crew agrees that they need a netrunner, and they settle on Slider, a former Voodoo Boy who now runs the gang's people in Dogtown. Alex gives V the exact location of his hideout.

Slider's Hideout

After a talk with Johnny outside the bar, V meets Reed on a bench near the hideout, in the basement of an old resort hotel. Guards watch the front, so V and Reed find another way in, by climbing the side of the building and entering through the vents. A large room full of cameras and Voodoo Boys lies between them and Slider, and stealth is the safer way through.

Slider waits behind a locked door. He wants to see the Relic in V's head before he will help. During a long conversation he connects to the Relic, and Songbird reaches out through it and kills him by accident. With Slider dead, V and Reed have to fight their way out of the hotel. Outside, V talks to Reed, and the story continues in Get It Together.

Answer Reed's call and go to the Moth.
Sit at the bar and wait. Answer Reed's call again.
Talk to Reed when he arrives, then to Alex.
Follow Alex outside and talk to her about the job and her past.
Go back inside and talk to Reed, then to Alex and Reed together.

Slider's Hideout

Leave the bar and talk to Johnny.
Meet Reed near Slider's hideout and sit on the bench to wait.
Follow Reed inside and talk to him about the guards.
Go back outside and climb up one side of the building to find a way into the vents.
Push on to the large room guarded by cameras and Voodoo Boys. Hide and use the Distract Enemies quickhack to lure guards away.
Open the closed area at the far end and find Slider.
Talk to Slider and let him see the Relic.

The Escape

Follow Reed and fight through the Voodoo Boys to leave the hideout.
Follow Reed outside and talk to him.

Choices

At the hideout, V can suggest talking to the Voodoo Boys' guards, or take another route and walk away from them peacefully. The quiet route through the vents avoids a fight on the way in, and one of the routes has V destroy the server cores to cut the Voodoo Boys' link. The way out is always a fight.

Rewards

Completing The Damned rewards Gris-Gris (depending on choices, missable).

Tips

The big room before Slider is full of cameras and guards. Hacking the cameras and using distractions makes it much easier to cross unseen.
