Alex, whose full name is Alena Xenakis, is an undercover agent of the FIA, a specialist in disguise and a former protégé of Solomon Reed. She grew up in the slums of Los Angeles and dreamed of seeing herself on braindance billboards. Instead she became a spy. She has spent years under cover in Dogtown, and she works with V and Reed throughout Phantom Liberty.
Biography
The Actress
Alex grew up in the slums of the Los Angeles Metroplex. She watched her parents fall into addiction and her friends sink into crime and poverty, but she always dreamed of being a braindance star. She joined a braindance studio as an aspiring actress, not knowing it was a front for the FIA. Her acting impressed the agency, and Solomon Reed recruited her.
The Agent
Under Reed's wing, Alex took on risky missions at home and abroad and became a gifted master of disguise. When the Unification War broke out, she was sent to Night City, and when the war went badly she was left in place. She came full circle, back in a slum she had tried to escape, this time in Dogtown. She spent years under cover running a bar and doing routine work, believing like everyone else that Reed was dead.
Dogtown
Alex helps V and Reed save the President and then rescue Songbird. For the strike on Kurt Hansen, she and V kill the Cassel twins and take their faces, so they can get close to the warlord.
Personality
Alex is sharp, brave and good at playing any role. She is loyal to the FIA and to Reed. Years of waiting in Dogtown have left her tired and a little bitter, but she does her job without complaint.
Relationships
Solomon Reed recruited and trained her. Songbird is a fellow agent. Kurt Hansen is the warlord she is sent to bring down. V is the merc she works with in Dogtown.

Endings
If V turns against the FIA in Firestarter, Songbird warns Hansen, and Hansen kills Alex. Reed later leaves a memorial for her at the North Oak Columbarium. If Alex survives and V helps Songbird escape, she later meets V at her bar and admits she has orders to kill V, but she is willing to wait, as V has little time left anyway. She is then sent away from Night City for good.
