Gris-Gris is Slider's personal revolver, an Iconic Tech gun from Phantom Liberty that also works as a hacking tool. The weapon is fused with Slider's cyberdeck, so its bullets can carry a quickhack into the target. Every hit has a chance to upload a random quickhack. A hack that lands in the middle of a gunfight can change how the fight goes. A fully charged trigger pull also switches the revolver to full-auto fire. It works best for players who want a gun build with some netrunner abilities. It is easy to miss, because it sits behind a locked door. Gris-Gris is a Phantom Liberty find from the main job The Damned, in Slider's hideout under the Eventide Resort & Spa in Dogtown.
Combat
Gris-Gris is a Tech revolver, so the trigger can be held to charge a shot. A charged Tech shot can go through cover and thin walls. Once the charge is full, the revolver fires in full auto instead of single shots. The full charge is therefore the strongest way to use the gun. It fires a stream of bullets, and each one has a chance to upload a quickhack. More hits mean more chances to land a hack.
The upload is random. Weaker quickhacks land more often, and the strongest ones are rare. Gris-Gris is better at steady pressure than at one big shot. It works best against crowds of gang members, where many hits in a short time give the hacks more chances to trigger. The charge also takes a moment. The revolver rewards fighting from cover and stepping out with a full charge ready.

Upgrades
Slider's revolver only keeps up with V's level if it is upgraded. The crafting menu has an Upgrades tab for this, and each new tier is paid for in crafting components. Components come from loot, from crafting and from taking apart weapons V does not need. Gris-Gris has to be in V's inventory, because the tab does not list weapons left in the stash.
The table shows what each tier step of Gris-Gris costs.

Character Builds
Gris-Gris works best in a build that mixes Technical Ability with Intelligence. Technical Ability holds the Tech weapon perks. Bolt raises charge speed and charged-shot damage. It also makes a shot count as fully charged if the trigger is released just before full charge. Lightning Storm speeds up the next charge after each Bolt. Shock Value lets Bolts ignore enemy Armor. Chain Lightning turns Bolts into Electrical damage that spreads to nearby enemies.
Intelligence works well with the random hacks. System Overwhelm adds quickhack damage for each different quickhack and damage-over-time effect on a target. Hacks from the revolver also count. For cyberware, Feedback Circuit restores Health whenever a fully charged Tech shot hits. Electromag Recycler restores both Health and Stamina on the same kind of hit. Kiroshi Stalker Optics link to the equipped Tech weapon and highlight enemies behind cover, which helps aim shots through walls. Cellular Adapter adds Tech weapon damage for every point of Technical Ability.
Lore
Slider is a netrunner tied to the Voodoo Boys in Dogtown. The gang turned the basement of the Eventide Resort & Spa into a netrunning den for him. From there he dives into Dogtown's local Net and directs the Voodoo Boys from a distance. Gris-Gris is his own weapon. Its cyberdeck link suits its owner, a netrunner who never fully leaves the Net, even with a gun in hand.
In The Damned, Solomon Reed and V meet Alex at the Moth bar. The three agree that reaching Songbird needs a skilled netrunner, and they choose Slider. Reed and V then get into Slider's hideout. They can talk their way past the guards or sneak in through the ventilation shafts. Inside, they cut the gang's connection by destroying the server cores and reach Slider. Once Slider jacks in, he reaches Songbird. He learns how far beyond the Blackwall she has gone to contact V. Slider does not survive the link. His revolver stays behind in a locked storage room in the same building.
Notes
- Gris-Gris is missable. The key must be picked up during Treating Symptoms, and the room must be opened during The Damned.
- Gris-Gris is the Iconic variant of the DR-12 Quasar.
