Under the Bridge is a cyberpsycho sighting for Regina Jones in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. Under a bridge, the homeless have found more trouble than they bargained for. The cyberpsycho is Tamara Cosby, a netrunner who was dumped in the sewer for dead, and who has been searching the Net for her missing Valentino boyfriend, Lely, until her own body began to fail her.
Story
Only Trouble
The journal asks whether V has nowhere better to be. The only thing V will stir up here is trouble. It would be wise to leave, but V will do as V pleases.
The Girl in the Sewer
A shard records two homeless men. Fred Reid excitedly tells Mor Jones that he found a girl: someone threw her in the sewer, she looks like a netrunner, and whoever dumped her probably thought she was dead. Mor warns him to leave her alone, as this never ends well. Fred calls it superstition and asks for meds, because she is barely breathing. He wants to care for her himself rather than take her to a ripper, since he has no idea who is after her.
Searching for Lely
A second shard holds Tamara's messages to her supplier, Tony Ludic. She fell asleep in the tub, she writes, and her fingers have gone numb. She has scanned every Valentino haunt and cannot find Lely: no digital traces, as if he vanished into thin air. Tony suggests checking the dollhouse, or letting it go, and reminds her he warned her about Valentinos, who swear eternal love and then vanish. Tamara snaps back that Tony does not even know Lely. Then she asks for organic implants to replace her dead fingers.
