Cyberpsychosis turns one enemy against everyone around them. The target attacks the nearest person, friend or foe. Their allies then have to deal with a threat inside their own ranks, and less fire comes toward V. If nobody is near, the target kills themselves instead. It suits a late game Intelligence build that stacks several quickhacks on one target before the final upload. Cyberpsychosis is a mid to late game ultimate quickhack that netrunner vendors sell from Tier 4 onward.
Effect
Cyberpsychosis is an ultimate quickhack. V uploads it to one enemy, and that enemy goes berserk. They attack the nearest combatant, whether that is an ally or an enemy. The affected enemy also turns on anyone who attacks them. If no one is nearby, the enemy commits suicide instead. Either result removes a threat without V firing a shot.
The RAM cost is high, so V needs a large RAM pool or a way to lower the price. Cyberpsychosis has its own way. Applying a stack of Cyberware Malfunction lowers its RAM cost by 6 for a short time. An EMP effect does the same. This discount stacks up to three times. Three stacks take a large share off the price.
Tier 5 makes the effect last much longer. It also adds 25% duration and 25% damage for each other quickhack affecting the target. An enemy carrying Overheat, Contagion and Cyberware Malfunction becomes a far more dangerous berserker. The Iconic variant raises that bonus to 40% duration and 40% damage per quickhack.
The quickhack works best in a crowd. A berserk enemy needs targets nearby. A lone guard simply commits suicide instead.
How to Get Cyberpsychosis Guide
- Buy Cyberpsychosis or its crafting spec from a netrunner vendor once Tier 4 stock appears.
- Breach Access Points with Breach Protocol for a chance at quickhacks.
- With Phantom Liberty, watch netrunner stock and enemy netrunner drops for the Iconic variant from around level 51.

Crafting Spec
Netrunner vendors sell the Cyberpsychosis spec. The spec lets V craft Cyberpsychosis in the crafting menu. Every spec in the game is listed on the Crafting Specs page.
Upgrades
Cyberpsychosis comes in Tier 4 and Tier 5, plus an Iconic variant. Tier 4 has the base effect and the RAM discount. Tier 5 extends the duration and adds the bonus for each other quickhack on the target. The Iconic variant keeps every Tier 5 effect and raises that bonus.
Netrunner vendors sell Cyberpsychosis and its crafting specs once V reaches the tier. Crafting needs quickhack components of the matching tier. Breach Protocol on an Access Point can also reward quickhacks. Enemy netrunners can drop quickhacks and specs as well. The Iconic variant needs Phantom Liberty. Netrunners begin to offer Iconic quickhacks at around level 51, and their stock rotates. Enemy netrunners can drop the Iconic crafting spec too. Crafting the Iconic variant takes Tier 5 quickhack components.
Character Builds
Cyberpsychosis belongs in an Intelligence build. Hack Queue lets V queue a second quickhack on the same enemy. Queue Acceleration adds a third slot to the queue and speeds up later uploads. Queue Mastery adds one more slot. The last quickhack to fill a full queue then costs half the RAM. Cyberpsychosis fits that last slot well, since its Tier 5 bonus grows with every quickhack in front of it.
Cyberware Malfunction is the cheapest way to start the RAM discount. Short Circuit at Tier 4 applies an EMP effect, which also lowers the cost. Overclock lets V upload Cyberpsychosis even with too little RAM, paying with Health instead. Data Recycler returns most of the RAM spent on quickhacks still waiting in a queue when the target dies. System Overwhelm adds quickhack damage for each different quickhack on the target.
Embedded Exploit adds quickhack damage against enemies affected by Control or Covert quickhacks. Cyberware Malfunction is a Control quickhack, so it also helps every damaging quickhack that follows it.
Select a Build
Quickhacks such as Contagion and Cyberpsychosis spend the RAM first, and Overclock then spends Health for more. The Thermal Monowire finishes enemies up close, and a CHAR Incendiary Grenade sets groups on fire. The Prototype: Shingen Mark V smart SMG covers longer range.
Attributes: Body 20, Reflexes 20, Technical Ability 20, Intelligence 16, Cool 5.

Lore
In Night City, cyberpsychosis is a mental illness caused by too much cyberware in the body. The quickhack forces that state onto its target for a short time.
The in-game description quotes an opinion piece from the Night City Herald. The writer asks a sharp question. If cyberpsychos are only an invention of the tabloids, then who carried out yesterday's massacre at 7th Hell?
Notes
- A target with nobody nearby commits suicide instead of fighting.
