The Ash of War: Ice Spear is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Cold affinity and the Ice Spear skill. It is found in Liurnia of the Lakes, around the middle of a run.
Ice Spear is a skill of the warriors who served Lunar Princess Ranni: the wielder spins the weapon to gather cold magic, then thrusts it forward to release a piercing spear of ice. The ice spear deals magic damage and heavy frostbite build-up, while the spin itself also hits with the weapon. Its damage scales with Dexterity and Intelligence rather than Strength. It suits Dexterity and Intelligence hybrids using spears, halberds and twinblades who want a quick ranged frost attack.
Stats
It grants the Cold affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality or Magic. The skill costs 15 FP. It fits Twinblade, Spear, Great Spear and Halberd.

- Ash of War: Ice Spear drops from the Night's Cavalry that patrols south of the Gate Town Bridge Site of Grace in eastern Liurnia of the Lakes, north of the Liurnia Highway North Site of Grace.
- The rider only appears at night.

Skill
Use it at mid range, since the ice spear travels only a moderate distance and will not reach far-off enemies. It breaks stance fairly quickly and sets up frostbite for extra damage on follow-up hits. A Heavy affinity barely benefits from the skill's scaling, so Dexterity or Intelligence affinities work much better.
