The Clayman's Harpoon is a Spear in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Ainsel River, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at E and Int at D, so Str and Int are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 12, Dex 10 and Int 12 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.

Notes

Harpoon with a tip made from a sharpened meteorite shard. Wielded by the claymen who infest dynastic remains. The blade emits a faint light and deals magic damage.
