The Ash of War: Stamp (Upward Cut) is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Heavy affinity and the Stamp (Upward Cut) skill. It can be picked up early in a run.
Stamp (Upward Cut) braces the weapon and steps into a low stance that keeps the wielder from staggering and halves incoming damage. A strong attack follow-up delivers a hefty upward strike that launches smaller foes into the air and deals stance damage on par with a fully charged heavy attack. Its vertical reach also catches jumping opponents. It suits Strength builds with greatswords, axes and hammers that want to trade hits and break stance.
Stats
It grants the Heavy affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 5 FP. It fits Greatsword, Colossal Sword, Heavy Thrusting Sword, Curved Greatsword, Great Katana, Axe, Greataxe, Hammer, Flail, Great Hammer and Colossal Weapon.
How to Get Ash of War: Stamp (Upward Cut) Guide
- Sold by Bernahl for 1,500 runes at the Warmaster's Shack in Stormhill, and later in the Drawing Room of Volcano Manor once he moves there.
- If Bernahl dies before it is bought, the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold sell it for the same price after receiving Bernahl's Bell Bearing.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
The stamp absorbs one incoming blow, after which the upward cut can punish immediately. Launched enemies can often be followed up with a charged heavy attack. A light attack after the stamp skips the FP cost and comes out faster, which makes it a useful mix-up in player fights. The upward cut can be parried.
