The Flamberge is a Greatsword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Redmane Castle, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D and Dex at C, so Dex is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 15 and Dex 14 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling. It also causes blood loss buildup on its own, with no infusion needed.

Notes

Greatsword featuring a flame-like undulation. Shred enemy flesh, inducing blood loss. Scarlet rot is kept at bay with flame at Redmane Castle, and as such, this beloved sword of Jerren's eventually became the symbol of the castle itself.
