A Black Cauldron For The Alchemist sends the player after Ikora, a sorceress who once lived in Rattlebeak in the Nomad Highlands. The Alchemist needs her Black Cauldron to build an Alchemy Station. Her shop is empty, and a trail of calcified statues leads to the Cradle of Dusk, where what is left of Ikora still guards the cauldron.
Walkthrough
The quest step by step:
- Finish The Alchemist's Mortar and Finding Masonry Tools, then speak to the Alchemist.
- Ask the Farmer, Emily Fray, about Ikora. She remembers that Ikora lived in Rattlebeak.
- Travel to Rattlebeak in the Nomad Highlands and search Ikora's shop.
- Follow the trail of stone statues out of the town. It leads to the Cradle of Dusk.
- Defeat Ikora at the Cradle of Dusk and take the Black Cauldron from her remains.
- Return to the base and craft an Alchemy Station with the cauldron.
The statues in Rattlebeak are the victims of Ikora's experiments. They mark the road to her, so following them is the quickest way to the fight.

Prerequisites
Two earlier quests open this one. The Alchemist's Mortar sends the player to the Alchemist Tower in Lone Thistle. The Mortar lies in a hidden laboratory below the tower, behind a door that opens with a hidden button. Finding Masonry Tools is a quest from the Carpenter. It leads to a research site at the Pillars of Creation, where one of the excavation camps holds the tools. The Masonry Tools let the Carpenter build more crafting stations. After both, the Alchemist wants a Black Cauldron to set up an Alchemy Station.
