Balefire Garrison "Wind Ward" is a signal garrison in the north of the Albaneve Summits. The balefires are signal fires that circle Howling Peak, designed by an alchemist of Wickmouth as a warning for the day the great beast returned. Lighting all of them wakes the boss Fell Dragon Youngling on Howling Peak. Whitewing Vultures, an icy kind of Draconian Vulture, nest around the garrison, and the survivor Gunther Galeforth can be found here. Notes from the garrison belong to a frightened lookout, scorned by the soldiers after his father's death. He comforts himself with his father's saying: "Cowards live longer."

Wind Ward lies north of the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire. An Elixir Well lies to the north. Pretty Patty's Pumpkin Farm is to the south-west, and a Gem Forge stands to the east. The Cyclops Cave lies further north-west.

Chests
A silver chest is hidden underneath the main tower. The Whitewing Vultures attack with claws and the occasional frost bolt, so the climb around the tower is safer once they are dealt with.
