The Mage Set is an early magic armor set for staff casters in the Revelwood. Its strength is a deep mana pool, with extra mana on the chest and trousers and faster mana regeneration on the boots. The Alchemist crafts it once the Mortar stands in the base. Pieces also turn up in chests.

Pieces

The hat raises the chance of magical critical hits, and the gloves add a small boost to all magic damage. The chest and trousers enlarge the mana pool, so more spells fit into one fight. The boots refill mana faster between casts. Together the pieces suit a caster who stays back and keeps a staff firing.

How to Get Mage Set Guide

The Alchemist makes every piece at the Mortar. Armor recipes unlock on their own each time the Flame is upgraded, one crafting tier at a time. The main materials are Indigo Plant, Linen and Copper Bars, with Glow Dust, Bug Dust and Goo for the smaller parts.

Levelling and Upgrades

The Alchemist upgrades mage armor for Runes. Crafted pieces are rare quality, while chests can hold common to legendary ones. The quality sets how many upgrade perks a piece can unlock. Legendary pieces unlock the most and need Legendary Runes for the later steps. The perks here add resistance to blunt, piercing, cutting and Shroud damage, more mana, and extra levels in skills such as Wizard, Quick Charge and Arsonist. Upgraded gear peaks at level 55, far above the Revelwood tier. The staff line continues with the Magician Set in the Nomad Highlands. Outgrown pieces salvage back into runes.

Lore

The Mage descriptions paint a simple apprentice outfit with a sense of humour. The hat states that no mage set is complete without a large, brimmed hat. Oakwood buttons, a woven belt and magic itself hold the chest together, though the buttons do most of the work. Artificial nails make the plain gloves look more imposing and fashionable. The comfortable pants suit apprentices out to gain their first adventuring experience. The light boots are slightly pointed at the toes.
