The Magician Set is a Nomad Highlands magic armor set for staff casters. Its strength is raw staff damage, led by gloves that also hit magical enemies harder. The Alchemist crafts it, and pieces also turn up in chests.

Pieces

The hat raises the chance and the damage of magical critical hits. The gloves add staff damage and extra damage against magical enemies. The chest adds health and a large block of mana, and the trousers add more mana and regeneration. The boots refill mana faster and shorten the pause before regeneration starts.

How to Get Magician Set Guide

The Alchemist makes every piece. Armor recipes unlock on their own each time the Flame is upgraded, one crafting tier at a time. The recipes draw on Nomad Highlands materials: Bronze Bars, Tin Bars, Leather, Calla Luna and Critter Glands, with Monstrous Ribs for the chest.

Levelling and Upgrades

The Alchemist upgrades mage armor for Runes. Crafted pieces are rare quality, while chests can hold common to legendary ones. The quality sets how many upgrade perks a piece can unlock. Legendary pieces unlock the most and need Legendary Runes for the later steps. The perks here add resistance to blunt, piercing, cutting and Shroud damage, more mana, and extra levels in skills such as Wizard, Quick Charge and Arsonist. Upgraded gear peaks at level 55, far above the Nomad Highlands tier. The staff line continues with the Archmage Set in the Kindlewastes. Outgrown pieces salvage back into runes.

Lore

The Magician descriptions describe a showman who likes to look the part. The hat frames the face with a luscious golden trim. The chest is an ordinary shirt partly covered by a more sophisticated jacket. A magic-infused golden thread binds the gloves. The trousers are made of silky smooth cloth that graces only the most esteemed magicians. The low-cut shoes leave the ankles bare, which the description calls quite enchanting.

Tips

The Magician Set is made for staff casters, since its gloves raise staff damage. Staffs cast spells from spell charges and mana, so the set's large mana pool means more casts per fight. The gloves also hit magical enemies harder, which helps against enemy spellcasters. Wand users get more from the Mystic Set, which covers the same tier. The staff line continues with the Archmage Set in the Kindlewastes.
