The Celebratory Cap is a party hat that Iron Gate made to celebrate Valheim's birthday. You craft it at a Workbench from Deer Hide, Bear Hide, Bronze and an Amber Pearl, and all of those materials come from the Black Forest. It gives 1 armour, rising to 7 when fully upgraded.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 2 Workbench from:
- 2x Deer Hide: dropped by Deer.
- 1x Bronze: made at a Forge.
- 1x Bear Hide: dropped by Bears, and by Vile in the Plains.
- 1x Amber Pearl: found in chests in Burial Chambers, Sunken Crypts and Troll Caves.
| Name | Image | Biome | Crafting Station | Spawn ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deer Hide | Meadows | - | spawn DeerHide
| |
| Bronze | Black Forest | Forge | spawn Bronze

| Bear Hide | Black Forest | - | spawn BjornHide

| Amber Pearl | Black Forest | - | spawn AmberPearl

When to Use It
This is an early game helmet. It needs Black Forest materials, which means it comes after Eikthyr and the Antler Pickaxe.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. Figures quoted elsewhere are for quality 1, so use this table to find the level your own copy is at:
| Quality | Crafting Station | Armor | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Workbench (Level 1) | 1 |
|
| 2 | Workbench (Level 2) | 3 | |
| 3 | Workbench (Level 3) | 5 | |
| 4 | Workbench (Level 4) | 7 |
Notes
- Armor lowers physical, fire, frost and lightning damage, but poison and spirit damage go straight through it.
- While your armor is less than half of a hit's damage, it is simply subtracted from the hit. Once it reaches half the damage or more, the damage taken becomes the damage squared divided by four times your armor, so doubling your armor halves the damage you take.
- Your armor rating is the total of the helmet, chest, leg and cape pieces you wear.
