The Antler Pickaxe sits behind Eikthyr, whose antlers are the only thing hard enough to make one. It is the tool that finally turns the copper and tin deposits of the Black Forest into ore. It deals 18 pierce and 18 pickaxe damage. That 36 total damage ranks 4th among tools, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 1 Workbench from:
- 10x Wood: chopped from any tree.
- 1x Hard Antler: dropped by Eikthyr.

When to Use It
This is gear for the opening hours. Everything it takes comes out of the Meadows, so it suits a character who has only just arrived.
Properties
Here is a tool checklist, because missing one of these is how an evening gets wasted. Make the Antler Pickaxe the moment Eikthyr is down, since it is the gate on copper and tin. Upgrade your pickaxe at every tier: the harder deposits need it, and the Pickaxes skill rises on its own while you mine. Keep the hammer, hoe and cultivator in a chest at your base rather than on your back, and carry a spare axe, because chopping breaks tools fastest.
- Skill: Pickaxes and Axes, which level up as you use them and lose a slice when you die.
Notes
- Pickaxes are the only way to mine ore deposits and dig terrain.
- Defeating Eikthyr unlocks the Antler Pickaxe, the gate on copper and tin.
