Bronze is harder than either metal that goes into it, and that is the only reason to mine two different ores in two different places. Its materials come from the Black Forest.

How to Get It

You never mine bronze directly. Copper comes from the deposits in the Black Forest and tin from the rocks along its shoreline. Both need the Antler Pickaxe that Eikthyr drops, and the ore is worth nothing until it goes through a Smelter with coal. You then combine the bars at a Forge, two copper to one tin. Neither the ore nor the bars can pass through a portal, so every load travels by boat or cart. The one shortcut is the uncommon Scrap Bronze, which smelts straight down with no mining at all.

Bronze is the only alloy in the game, meaning it is made from two or more metals.
Like other metals, Bronze cannot be teleported without the Portal Stone.
Crafting one of each base item (armor, weapons, tools) in the Black Forest tier takes 78 Bronze, and fully upgrading them takes another 222, for 300 Bronze in total. Crafting one of each base item across all the Biomes tiers takes 98 Bronze, plus 232 more to fully upgrade, for 330 Bronze in total.
