You make Dyrnwyn whole again at the black forge from three broken fragments dragged out of the Ashlands, a hoard of flametal and a single bloodstone. It is the last sword Valheim asks you to build. It deals 145 slash and 10 fire damage. At 155 total damage it ranks 5th among swords, so it is a step on the ladder, not the top of it. Fire damage hurts the Abomination, Bat and Bear more than most things, and that is what you carry it for.

How to Craft

You craft it at a level 4 black forge from:

1x Dyrnwyn Hilt Fragment: Lord Reto drops it in the tomb under the third mysterious location in the Ashlands.
1x Dyrnwyn Blade Fragment: It lies on the open altar of the second mysterious location in the Ashlands.
1x Dyrnwyn Tip Fragment: It lies inside the first mysterious location in the Ashlands, a sealed grausten ruin.
20x Flametal: Smelt it from flametal ore in a blast furnace.
1x Bloodstone: Found in the charred fortresses of the Ashlands.

When to Use It

This is late game gear. Flametal comes from the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes.

Upgrades

You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. The base stats are for quality 1, so this is the ladder your own copy is somewhere on:

Properties

Fire is the damage type more creatures are weak to than any other. Dyrnwyn carries 10 fire on top of 145 slash. Some things are immune to fire, though, so it swings wider than a safe choice would.

It has the steepest station requirement among swords. You need the Black Forge at level 4 just to make it and at level 7 to reach quality 4, so the forge is a project before the sword is.
