Fire Arrow turns Resin, which you chop from Meadows trees or take from Greydwarves in the Black Forest, into a shot that keeps burning after it lands. It deals 11 pierce and 22 fire damage. At 33 total damage it ranks 18th among ammunition, a step up the ladder rather than the top of it. Fire damage hurts the Greyling, Neck and Frost Blob more than most things, and that is what to carry it for.

Crafted at a level 2 Workbench from:

• 8x Wood: Chopped from any tree.
• 8x Resin: Dropped by Greydwarves and Greylings, and by felled trees.
• 2x Feathers: Dropped by Crows and Gulls, and found in chests in the Meadows.

Opening hours. Everything it needs comes from the Meadows, so this is gear for a character who has just started out.

It deals 22 fire and only 11 pierce, the reverse of a normal arrow, and that is on purpose: fire has more weaknesses than any other damage type, with 14 creatures weak to it.

Several early creatures are also afraid of it. Greydwarves and Greylings both fear fire and take extra damage from it, which makes this arrow the answer to the Black Forest long before better arrows exist.

• Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's base damage before any other calculation, which is why the arrow, not the bow, decides a shot's damage type.
• Bows fire arrows and Crossbows fire bolts, and the 2 are not interchangeable.
• With more than one kind in your inventory, right-click a stack to pick which one is used.
