The Fire Arrow is a piece of ammunition in Valheim, dealing 11 pierce and 22 fire. At 33 total damage it is 18th of the 26 ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Fire damage hurts Neck, Frost Blob and Geirrhafa more than most things, which is what to carry it for.

How to Craft

Crafted at Workbench, station level 2.
Costs 8x Wood, 8x Resin, 2x Feathers at quality 1.
Materials can be found in the Meadows biome.

When to Use It

Opening hours. Everything it takes comes out of the Meadows, so this is gear for a character who has just stood up.

Properties

22 fire and only 11 pierce. The split is inverted against a normal arrow, and deliberately: fire has more weaknesses than any other type in the game, 14 creatures out of 61.

And several early creatures are frightened of it outright. Greydwarves and Greylings both fear fire and take extra from it, which makes this the answer to the Black Forest long before better arrows exist.

Notes

Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's base damage before any other calculation, which is why the arrow and not the bow decides a shot's damage type.
Arrows are fired by bows and bolts by crossbows; the 2 are not interchangeable.
With more than one kind in the inventory, right-clicking the stack selects which is used.
