Resin burns slow and steady and keeps the water off everything it touches, which is why it ends up in almost every torch, candle and hull in the game. It drops from the beech, fir and pine trees of the Meadows, and from every greydwarf that ever came at you out of the dark.
How to Get It
Chopping is the dependable way to farm it: beech, fir and pine in the Meadows, birch and oak once you carry a bronze axe, and yggdrasil shoots much later. A stone axe handles the common trees, so resin starts coming in on your first day. Greylings and greydwarves of every kind drop it when killed, chests in Meadows ruins hold it, and the barrels standing beside greydwarf structures in the Black Forest are full of it. Skip ancient trees and scorched trees when you plan a resin run, because they drop none.
