Flametal Breastplate is the chest piece the Ashlands asks for before it lets you hold your ground in a fight, and it is made from flametal, Charred Bone and a Morgen Heart. It has 38 armour, or 44 fully upgraded, and no chest piece in the game has more. Wear it with the rest of the Flametal Armor set and your armour rating reaches 114, enough to turn a 100-damage hit into 22.
How to Craft
Craft it at a level 3 Black Forge with:
- 20x Flametal: Smelted from Flametal Ore in a Blast Furnace.
- 3x Asksvin Hide: Dropped by Asksvin in the Ashlands.
- 5x Charred Bone: Dropped by the Charred in the Ashlands.
- 1x Morgen Heart: Dropped by Morgens in the Ashlands.

When to Use It
This is late-game gear. Flametal comes from the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes.
Upgrades

Properties
- +20% Heat Resistance, -5% Movement speed
- Movement -5%: that is what wearing it costs you in speed and in the cost of a dodge roll.
Notes
- It lowers movement speed by 5%, and heavy chest and leg penalties add up, so a full heavy set slows you by 10% before a shield slows you further.
- Armor lowers physical, fire, frost and lightning damage, but poison and spirit damage go straight through it.
- Each upgrade level adds 2 armor.
