Flint Knife is for getting behind things rather than standing in front of them. The Workbench asks only for a little Flint and the Leather Scraps off a Boar, and every material comes from the Meadows. It deals 5 slash and 5 pierce damage. At 10 total damage it ranks 6th among knives, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it.
How to Craft
Craft it at a level 1 Workbench with:
- 2x Wood: Chopped from any tree.
- 4x Flint: Picked up along river banks and shorelines.
- 2x Leather Scraps: Dropped by Boars and Bats, and dug out of Muddy Scrap Piles.

When to Use It
This is gear for the opening hours. Everything it takes comes out of the Meadows, so it suits a character who has just stood up.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. All other figures on this page are for quality 1, so use this table to see where your own copy sits:

Properties
Each swing costs 4 stamina, the cheapest attack in the game. 5 slash and 5 pierce is almost nothing, but with 6 times damage from stealth it still one-shots a Boar or a Neck.
Flint washes up by the water in the Meadows, so this needs no mining and no Smelter, just a Workbench and a walk along a shore.
Notes
- The 6x bonus applies to an enemy that has not noticed you, not to one busy attacking someone else. It is a Sneaking mechanic, not a positional one.
- The primary combo lands 1x, 1x and then 2x, so the third hit is where the damage is. The whole combo takes 1.74 seconds.
- The primary has a knockback of 10, the lowest in the game, which keeps a target inside the combo instead of pushing it out of reach.
