Magecap glows a cold blue in the gloom of the Mistlands, and it is the first food in Valheim that puts eitr into you at all.
Farming
- You gather Magecaps in the Mistlands.
- With a Cultivator you can plant them in cultivated soil in the Mistlands, the only biome they grow in. Like Flax and Barley, you plant it directly instead of farming seeds first. One cultivated Magecap gives three Magecap.
- You can replant it with a Cultivator within the Mistlands to grow more Magecap.
- You can eat it directly, but the Health and Stamina it gives are far below the other food in its tier.
Each plant grows straight from a gathered Magecap and needs cultivated soil with a clear metre of ground around it.
| Plant | Image | Planted From | What You Harvest | Grows In | Needs Tilled Soil | Growing Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magecap | Magecap | 3x Magecap | Mistlands | Yes | 4000 to 5000 seconds |
How to Get It
Pick it by hand where it sprouts from rock and root across the Mistlands. It turns up more often in the sheltered low ground than up on the spires. You can replant it with a Cultivator, but only in cultivated soil in the Mistlands itself, and each planted cap gives back three. Raw it is thin fare, 25 health and 25 stamina on top of its eitr, so most of a harvest ends up in a Cauldron or a Mead Ketill instead.
Notes
Magecap is the first food that gives eitr.
