Serpent Meat means a boat trip. Serpents only surface in the deep water of the Ocean and will not follow you ashore, so the only way to stock up is to sail out after them.
How to Get It
Take a Karve or Longship well off the coast, ideally at night or in a storm when serpents are most active, and kill one with a bow, a harpoon or a spear. Every serpent drops six or seven pieces of meat, enough to keep a kitchen supplied for a long time. The drops float where the serpent died, so steer over them before they drift off in the swell. The meat is inedible raw and needs an Iron Cooking Station, which in turn needs iron from the Swamp.
Notes
- Serpent Meat floats and can stay afloat for a long time. If a Serpent dies in a storm and the meat cannot be picked up right away, come back as soon as possible and it may still be there.
- Serpent Stew gives more health and stamina, so eating the meat on its own only makes sense with more meat than the stew needs.
- The stew's other ingredients are easy to get: Mushrooms can be foraged in the Meadows and Black Forest, and Honey comes from Beehives.
- Each piece weighs far more than any other food, so carry only as much as is needed.
