Trollfish crowd the shallows off the Black Forest coast in such numbers that most players catch them while trying to catch something else.
How to Get It
Cast a Fishing Rod into the water along any Black Forest shoreline. You buy the rod and ordinary Fishing Bait from Haldor. Mossy Fishing Bait brings them up far more reliably, and you make it from twenty Fishing Bait and a Troll Trophy at a Food Preparation Table. You can also scoop them up where the tide has left them stranded. One Trollfish gives a single Raw Fish for the Cooking Station, which is not much, so most of your catch ends up in crafting instead.
Quality
Fish do not get stars. Instead, each fish has a quality from 1 to 5, rolled when it spawns. Most waters give a 20% chance to step up a level, while the Ashlands and Deep North give 15%. A higher quality fish is visibly larger, weighs more, and cleans into more Raw Fish at a Food Preparation Table.
