Grandmaster armorer

Grandmaster Griffin Armor is a medium witcher chest armor from Blood and Wine. It is the Grandmaster variant of the Griffin Armor. It gives 240 armor and +22% sign intensity at level 40. The diagram is in Moreau's hidden workshop under Mont Crane Castle, found during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear. It is late-game armor from Toussaint.

It also gives +19% piercing, +17% bludgeoning, +24% slashing and +26% monster resistance. The set bonuses give free follow-up Signs and a stronger Yrden trap. Together with the sign intensity, they suit a signs build.

Set Bonus

The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. 3 pieces: after Geralt casts a Sign in standard mode with stamina, the next Sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger. Inside the trap, stamina regeneration rises by 5/s, sign intensity rises by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.

How to Get Grandmaster Griffin Armor

  • Start the level 40 Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear in Toussaint.
  • Take the portal under Mont Crane Castle to Moreau's hidden workshop. The armor diagram is in the same room as the trousers and silver sword diagrams.
  • A grandmaster craftsman crafts it from Mastercrafted Griffin Armor. The quest Master Master Master Master! in Beauclair unlocks this craftsman.

Grandmaster Griffin Armor Map Location and Quest Guide

The Grandmaster Griffin Armor diagram lies in Jerome Moreau's prison, a hidden cave reached through a portal under Mont Crane Castle in Toussaint. The pin marks that room, which also holds the trousers and silver sword diagrams. Geralt finds it during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear.

  1. Speak to Lafargue, the grandmaster smith in Beauclair, and ask about the Griffin gear to start Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear.
  2. Go to the Fort Ussar Ruins. Kill the slyzard and its mother that guard the area.
  3. Head to the stairs on the east side of the ruins.
  4. Loot the crate under the stairs and read Captain Augustus Fierabras' report. It points to Mont Crane Castle.
  5. Go to Mont Crane Castle, a hanse base full of bandits. Kill the fire runner before he lights the signal fire and clear the courtyard.
  6. Use the Eye of Nehaleni on the marked wall to dispel the illusion and enter Moreau's quarters.
  7. Take the power crystal from the workshop table. Use Witcher Senses to find the button that moves the stone wall.
  8. Loot the chest before the portal for Moreau's journal. Place the power crystal and power it with Aard.
  9. Step through the portal and defeat the golem.
  10. Search the small box on the shelf near the stove for the armor diagram.
