It deals 472-576 damage at level 40, with +21% sign intensity. A grandmaster blacksmith crafts it from a diagram found under Mont Crane Castle. It is a late-game sword from the Champs-Désolés in Toussaint.
Its bonuses are +21% sign intensity, +25% crit damage, +5% crit chance, +10% chance to dismember and +20% bonus experience from monsters, with 3 rune slots. Its sign intensity suits a signs build, and the 6-piece set bonus centers on Yrden.

The Griffin set is medium armor. With 3 pieces, after a Sign cast in standard mode with Stamina, the next Sign within 3 seconds costs no Stamina. With 6 pieces, Yrden traps are 40% larger. Inside them, Stamina regeneration rises by 5 per second, sign intensity rises by 100%, and damage taken drops by 20%. The set has 5 tiers, from basic at level 11 to grandmaster at level 40.
How to Get Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword
- Have the mastercrafted Griffin Silver Sword ready, because the upgrade uses it.
- Find the diagram in Moreau's hidden workshop during Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear. The workshop is through the portal under Mont Crane Castle, and the diagram is in the room with the armor and trousers diagrams.
- Unlock a grandmaster blacksmith through Master Master Master Master! in Beauclair, and have the sword crafted.
Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword Map Location and Quest Guide
The pin marks Mont Crane Castle in Toussaint. The Grandmaster Griffin Silver Sword diagram lies on a table in Jerome's prison, a cave reached through a portal hidden under the castle. The trousers and armor diagrams wait in the same cave, at the end of Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear.
- Speak to Lafargue, the grandmaster smith in Toussaint, and ask about the Griffin gear to start Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear.
- Loot the crate by the stairs on the east side of the Fort Ussar Ruins. Read Captain Augustus Fierabras' report to learn of Mont Crane Castle.
- Fight through the hanse base bandits at Mont Crane Castle. Stop the fire runner before he lights the signal fire, or more bandits arrive.
- Go to the marked wall and use the Eye of Nehaleni to reveal a hidden passage.
- Take the power crystal from the table in the workshop below.
- Use Witcher Senses to find the hidden button that moves a stone wall.
- Loot the chest by the portal and read Moreau's journal.
- Place the power crystal in its slot, power it with Aard and step through the portal.
- Kill the golem that attacks on the other side, then follow the cave.
- Take the silver sword diagram from the table. The trousers diagram is in the sack on the chair, and the armor diagram is in a small box near the stove.
