Mourntart is a powerful Grave Hag, one of the Necrophages. She haunts the graveyard of Lindenvale and is the target of Contract: The Merry Widow.
Lore
Most grave hags rarely attack humans. They would rather feed on the rotten remains they dig out of graves. Like all of her kind, Mourntart slurps the marrow from old bones with a long tongue. Yet some hags grow bold over the years. They begin to sneak into huts to steal children and kill the old.
Mourntart was just such a monster, and she tormented the people of Lindenvale. Bodies vanished from their graves, and then children began to disappear. Her lair held the grim proof: a human thigh bone, left over from her cooking. It belonged to a child.
Behaviour
Mourntart feeds in the Lindenvale cemetery and opens its graves with her claws. She keeps the skulls of her victims in her lair nearby.
Weaknesses
Coat the silver sword with Necrophage Oil and drink Black Blood before the fight. Quen absorbs the blows that still land, and Yrden is the key to winning.
Mourntart's claws are powerful enough to smash through any block or parry, so dodge them instead. Her long tongue carries venom. Her attacks are so quick that even a witcher's reflexes cannot keep pace. Lay a Yrden trap and keep her inside it. The trap slows her down enough to fight back.

- Take the contract from the notice board in Lindenvale.
- Talk to the gravedigger about the trouble at the cemetery.
- Go to the cemetery and defeat all the enemies there.
- Explore the cemetery with Witcher Senses.
- Follow the scent of cadaverine with Witcher Senses.
- Investigate the hag's lair with Witcher Senses and take the skulls.
- Put the skulls in the cemetery and wait for the grave hag to come.
- Kill Mourntart and take a trophy from her body.
- Collect the reward from the gravedigger.

Mourntart is hunted in Contract: The Merry Widow. The gravedigger of Lindenvale hung the notice on the village board. The cemetery was full of monsters, and they were taking children.
In the cemetery, Witcher Senses pick up the scent of cadaverine. The trail leads to the lair, where it becomes clear the killer is a grave hag. Placing her victims' skulls in the cemetery lures her out. She dies in the very graveyard that had fed her. Her body is dumped in a grave she had dug with her own claws, and the gravedigger pays the reward.
