The Protofleder is one of the Vampires and a relative of the Fleder. It lives only in the cave of the Unseen Elder in Toussaint. It is met in the Blood and Wine expansion, during the main quest What Lies Unseen.
Lore
A witcher who met one admitted he had never seen a vampire like it. Protofleders came into this world from the world of the higher vampires, during the Conjunction of the Spheres.
They are strong and agile. They also give off a strange glow, most likely a sign of their otherworldly nature.
Behaviour
Protofleders have never had real contact with the outside world. They have spent their whole time on this world inside the Unseen Elder's cave. The air in that cave is very much like the air of their home world.
Weaknesses
Coat the silver sword with Vampire Oil and drink Black Blood. Protofleders heal their wounds as the fight goes on, and both help wear them down. They attack with quick, deadly dashes, so dodge each rush before striking back.

Protofleders appear in What Lies Unseen, a main quest of Blood and Wine. The quest leads into the lair of the Unseen Elder, with Regis waiting at the entrance. Deep inside, the cave splits into several paths. One side passage leads to a room where a group of protofleders guards a chest. That chest holds the mask and trousers of the Hen Gaidth Armor set. More protofleders wait along the main path, which follows a trail of footprints left by a lost mage.
