The Dragon of Fyresdal is a Forktail, one of the Draconids. The villagers of Fyresdal on Ard Skellig took it for a true dragon. It lives just outside the village and is the target of Contract: Dragon.
Lore
"It's got scales, wings, claws... A dragon's a dragon!" So said Vagn, the village elder of Fyresdal. Few people know what a dragon really looks like. Those who see one up close rarely live to describe it. That is why people keep mistaking other monsters for dragons. In Fyresdal, the so-called dragon turned out to be a forktail.
The mistake did not make the beast any less dangerous. This forktail was an especially vile one, with an endless supply of deadly venom. Facing it without first drinking a healing potion or an antidote would be close to suicide.
Forktails take their name from the long, sharp growths at the tip of their tails. One blow from that tail can split an oak shield in two, along with the arm holding it.
Behaviour
The Dragon of Fyresdal killed two boys from the village. A dead cow near the village marks the site of one of its attacks.
Weaknesses
Coat the silver sword with Draconid Oil, and drink Golden Oriole before the fight. Aard works well against it, and so does a Grapeshot bomb.
The beast first has to be lured out. A sheep lent by the village elder serves as bait and draws the forktail into a trap.

- Take the contract from the notice board in Fyresdal and talk to Vagn, the village elder.
- Talk to Karli, the mother of the two victims.
- Examine the victims' bodies with Witcher Senses.
- Follow the monster's tracks with Witcher Senses to the site of the attack.
- Keep following the monster's tracks with Witcher Senses.
- Talk to the village elder about bait. He hands over a sheep.
- Use the sheep as bait to lure the forktail out, then kill it.
- Take a trophy from the forktail.
- Return to the village elder in Fyresdal for the reward.

The Dragon of Fyresdal is the target of Contract: Dragon in Skellige. The notice hangs on the board in Fyresdal. The elder, Vagn, insists there is a dragon about and wants it dead. He sends the witcher to the victims' mother, Karli, who lets the bodies be examined.
Witcher Senses then lead to the site of the attack and along the monster's trail. The tracks prove the dragon is a forktail. The forktail is then lured out and killed. After the kill, a trophy is taken and the elder pays the reward.
