Vehicle

Vehicle quickhacks let a netrunner hack cars and bikes. They can stop a vehicle, send it racing forward, take over its controls or blow it up. The Carhacker perk in the Intelligence tree unlocks them. Vehicle quickhacks suit any netrunner who wants control over the traffic of Night City, in a fight or on the road.

Effects

The Carhacker perk opens the vehicle quickhacks. Which of them V can use depends on the tier of the installed cyberdeck. A higher tier deck makes more of them available.

Emergency Brake forces the target vehicle to pull its handbrake and come to a stop. It also sets off the vehicle's alarm.

Floor It makes the target vehicle accelerate hard while its steering barely responds. After a short burst of speed the vehicle stops.

Take Control lets V drive the target vehicle remotely. The same quickhack also takes over cameras and turrets as a device hack. With Carhacker, it reaches vehicles as well.

Self-destruct makes the target vehicle explode. It is the vehicle quickhack that destroys the car outright.

Each quickhack answers a different problem. Emergency Brake and Floor It move a vehicle where V wants it, or stop it. Take Control hands the vehicle to V. Self-destruct removes it.

Character Builds

Vehicle quickhacks belong to an Intelligence build. Carhacker needs only 4 Intelligence, so even a light netrunner build can take it.

• Carhacker unlocks the vehicle quickhacks.
• Queue Acceleration lowers the RAM cost of quickhacks on devices and vehicles.
• Optimization raises the RAM recovery rate.

The NetWatch Netdriver is the cyberdeck for this playstyle. With it, quickhacks on devices and vehicles cost half the RAM. A higher tier of any cyberdeck opens more of the vehicle quickhacks.
