I've Seen That Face Before is the Phantom Liberty main job in which V and the FIA ambush the twin netrunners Aurore and Aymeric Cassel on their way to meet Kurt Hansen. V hides in the boot of their car in Dogtown, takes control of it and drives them into a trap. At the end, V and Alex take on the twins' identities for the meeting at the EBM Petrochem Stadium.

Story

The Plan Changes

Johnny sums up the job in the journal: fool a former soldier and international arms dealer in his own house, by kidnapping and posing as a pair of professional netrunners who deal in the lost secrets of cyberspace. And all of it from inside a locked car boot.

After leaving Farida's clinic, V calls Reed. The link to Charon Exotics set up in Birds with Broken Wings has been cut. The new plan is to watch the Dogtown gate from a high point near the Golden Pacific data term and spot the twins' car directly.

The Car

Just before midnight, V scans the cars coming from Night City into Dogtown. The twins drive a Quadra Sport R-7 Charon, which appears after two bikers. Once tagged, it can be tracked. The twins park in a car park below Eden Plaza and leave the car. V climbs into the boot and connects to the car's security system.

If the car is lost, Reed moves to a backup plan and sends V to three places to scan for it.

The Trap

The twins return, ready to drive to the stadium to meet Hansen and Songbird. From the boot, V can overhear them talk about the death of Slider and a stash he may have hidden. At Reed's signal, V takes control of the car. The twins fight back through the net, trying to steer back towards the stadium, and the two sides pull the car back and forth. V brings it into the garage where Reed and Alex are waiting. They stun and kill the twins.

New Faces

V links to Aurore's body and downloads the access codes for the Cynosure mainframe. V puts on the netrunner's suit, gets into the car and switches on the behavioural imprint in the faceplate from Farida. After a short test, V looks like Aymeric. Alex, posing as Aurore, joins V. Reed has a few words for Alex and leaves, and the story continues in Firestarter.

The Vantage Point

  1. Leave Farida's clinic and call Reed.
  2. Talk to Reed, then drive to the Dogtown entrance.
  3. Talk to Reed again and go to the vantage point near the Golden Pacific data term.
  4. Climb the platforms to the top and wait for the netrunners' car.
  5. Scan the vehicles at the intersection. The Sport R-7 Charon comes after two bikers.

The Boot

  1. Get up when prompted and head to the marker.
  2. Go to the car where the twins park below Eden Plaza.
  3. Talk to Reed when he calls, then open the boot and climb in.
  4. Use the car's cameras to watch, and talk to Reed.
  5. Wait for the twins to drive off, and for Reed's signal.
  6. Take control of the car and drive to the meeting point.

The Garage

  1. Get out of the boot once the car is in the garage.
  2. Talk to Reed.
  3. Scan Aurore's body to download the Cynosure mainframe access codes.
  4. Put on the netrunner's outfit, which lies just behind Reed.
  5. Get into the car and activate the behavioural imprint when Alex hands it over.

V can download a file called Blind_n_Dead from Aurore's body as well as the codes. The talk between the twins in the car can be listened to in full.

Rewards

Completing I've Seen That Face Before rewards Netrunner suit.

Tips

Stay in the boot and wait for Reed's signal before taking control of the car. If the guards at the stadium were to scan the car with V still hidden in the boot, they would fry V's implants and kill V.
