Dog Eat Dog is the first main job of Phantom Liberty, the expansion set in Dogtown, Pacifica. A netrunner who calls herself Songbird reaches V through the Relic and offers a cure in return for one job: saving the President of the New United States, whose plane is about to come down inside Dogtown. The job leads from the Dogtown border through an old parking garage under the EBM Petrochem Stadium. A new game can also start straight from this job.
Story
The Mystery Caller
Songbird first gets in touch from an unknown number. If V is reading at a book stand in Coastview, or some time after the meeting with the Voodoo Boys and Alt Cunningham, the call comes through. Johnny is amused. The journal lists everything that makes it look like a trap: an unknown number, a mysterious caller and a shady meeting in the middle of nowhere. If it is not a trap, he says, that is a one in a trillion chance. Next stop: Dogtown.
Songbird
Songbird sends V to Dogtown's northern gate. There the Relic glitches, and Songbird appears to V. She explains that she is aboard Space Force One, the President's plane, and that it will come down somewhere in Dogtown. V must get into the district and rescue President Rosalind Myers before Kurt Hansen's Barghest militia captures her.
To win V over, Songbird promises a cure that will save V's life. To prove she is serious, she gives V a piece of Militech software that unlocks new abilities through the Relic. More of these upgrades are hidden around Dogtown.
The Parking Garage
Dogtown is walled off, so Songbird leads V to a back way in: the old underground parking garage of the EBM Petrochem Stadium. Barghest guards the restricted area outside it. Inside, the garage is dark and broken. V has to restore the power, ride lifts and cross a long stretch of platforms to reach the far side, with Songbird guiding the way.
Dogtown
The garage leads up into Dogtown, right into the black market at the stadium. Songbird then sends V to a building site and up onto a roof. From there, V and Songbird watch as missiles strike her plane. V takes a chute down to the street, and the race to the crash site begins in Hole in the Sky.

Choices
The talk with Songbird changes only the dialogue. A Corpo V has a special answer when asked to go to Dogtown. The restricted area outside the garage can be crept through or fought through.
Rewards
Completing Dog Eat Dog pays 3,050 experience and 430 Street Cred. It also rewards Perk Shard (missable), BARGHEST helmet (missable) and Cyberware Capacity Shard (missable).
The Relic perk tree unlocks in this job. A Barghest helmet lies in the back of a blue vehicle in the garage, a level above a hanging metal platform past the handwritten notes.
Tips
The parking garage is much easier with a double jump implant and the air dash. A Perk Shard lies in a box in the boot of a car in the garage. To reach it, restore the power, ride a platform, then double jump up a level.
Notes
- The garage can only be visited during this job.
- Shards in the garage include a construction log and an archived conversation.
- The job and the rest of Phantom Liberty need the expansion.
